Overview The Department of Philosophy at California State University, San Bernardino, invites applications from a diverse group of qualified applicants for a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin August 2020. Typical Activities The successful candidate will teach undergraduate classes in the university's General Education program and for majors in Philosophy. Service responsibilities in the department, including academic advising for our majors, are shared equally among all tenure-track/tenured faculty. The department and the university expect the successful candidate to undertake a meaningful program of original research as part of achieving tenure and maintaining currency in the field. Minimum Qualifications A PhD in Philosophy or a related field is required by time of appointment. Supplemental Information A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU.
