The Faculty of Philosophy wishes to appoint a fixed-term Lecturer in Philosophy for one year from 1st September 2019 to 31st August 2020.

The successful candidate will have teaching competence in Philosophy of Language and Logic. Teaching competence in other areas would also be an advantage, including Philosophy of Mathematics.

The person appointed will be expected to be engaged in high-level research, to publish in their specialist field, to seek opportunities to win external funding for their research where possible, to teach and examine undergraduates, and to supervise and examine MPhil and PhD postgraduate work.  Applicants will normally have a PhD in Philosophy at the time of the application deadline and must have submitted before 1st September 2019.

The successful applicant will have an outstanding record of excellence in research, publication and teaching in Philosophy, bearing in mind their stage of career. They will be expected to teach and examine undergraduates, and to supervise and examine MPhil and PhD postgraduate work. They will also be required to take on certain administrative duties. 

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to participate in College teaching for additional remuneration.  The Lectureship is based in the Faculty of Philosophy, in central Cambridge.
