Our nearly 3,000 students hail from approximately 100 countries and nearly all 50 states, making Lynn one of the top five most international schools for our size. Our campus is a melting pot of cultures and beliefs, and we pride ourselves on our ability to embrace new ideas.

As a Lynn employee, you'll be free to think differently. You'll enjoy on-campus events and workshops that aim to reduce stress and celebrate community. And most importantly, you'll be doing your part to build a better future.

Lynn is currently accepting applications for the position of Assistant Professor-Belief and Reason.

The College of Arts and Sciences is seeking applications for the role of Assistant Professor starting in the 2019-2020 academic year. The position will be in the University's core curriculum, Dialogues of Learning. The Dialogues of Learning is internationally recognized, innovative, and interdisciplinary. It blends collaborative in-class discussions and activities with real world experience. The Dialogues of Learning includes components such as: Belief and Reason, Justice and Civic Life, Self and Society, Scientific Literacy, and Quantitative Reasoning. In addition, the curriculum also allows students to participate in experiential January Terms that function as unique learning opportunities outside of the traditional classroom setting: on campus, off campus, and around the world.

The College seeks applicants whose academic and practical experiences will interface strongly with the Dialogues of Belief and Reason. Courses in the Dialogues of Belief and Reason are interdisciplinary and focus most substantially on Religious Studies, Philosophy (Particularly Ethics), and History/Cultural-Studies.  The ideal candidate will be motivated to teach and engage students in multiple formats and will be able to demonstrate either success or strong potential for the same. Applicants will hold at least a Master's degree in a discipline appropriate to the position. Preference may be given to applicants who hold a Doctorate degree in a discipline appropriate to the position and/or applicants with interdisciplinary teaching experience.

At Lynn University, faculty actively contribute to curriculum through course development as well as teaching. Faculty also advise and mentor students from various major programs and liaise with campus offices for the benefit of students. Faculty are expected to offer professional and scholarly contributions and to actively participate in service to the University and local community. Additionally, expanding on the University's longstanding citizenship, cultural, and career preparation programs, faculty are often encouraged to collaborate with the newly developed Social Impact Lab. The Social Impact Lab was established to generate positive impact, both locally and globally, through sustainable concepts.

The anticipated start date for the position is August 2019. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until December 31, 2018. Applicants selected for initial screening will be contacted in January 2019 by a member of the screening committee and/or Employee Services.
