Job description

Cornell College seeks a full-time tenure-track appointment in its Department of Philosophy: appointment at the assistant professor level to begin in the fall of 2019. Candidates must contribute to the diversity of our curriculum and our college community.  The department is looking for someone who can teach courses concerned with social justice issues as related to race, gender, class, or nationality, or courses in a non-western, non-European philosophical tradition. Successful candidates may choose to contribute to the College's programs in Gender, Sexuality and Women's Studies, or Ethnic Studies, or Environmental Studies. All members of the Philosophy department contribute to the teaching of the following entry-level courses: Introduction to Philosophy, Ethics, and Logic. PhD in Philosophy is required, ABD will be considered.
