Job description

Philosophy Faculty – Tenure Track
The Department of Philosophy at Baldwin Wallace University is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor to begin in August 2019. The Department is interested in candidates with any of the following areas of specialization: Bioethics, History and Philosophy of Science, Philosophy of Race, Africana Philosophy, Islamic Philosophy, Latin American Philosophy, Asian Philosophy. Evidence of both scholarly promise and excellence in undergraduate teaching is required.
A Ph.D. in Philosophy in hand by August 2019 is required. Candidates are expected to participate in curriculum development and assessment, and will have the opportunity to contribute to the University's First-Year Experience course, Honors Program, and to develop study abroad opportunities. All faculty members are expected to participate in professional development activities, university and departmental service as well as faculty governance.
Founded in 1845, Baldwin Wallace University is an independent, coeducational, comprehensive university in the liberal arts tradition and is located 15 miles southwest of downtown Cleveland, just minutes from Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. Baldwin Wallace enrolls approximately 3,000 full-time undergraduate day students, 200 part-time students in evening and weekend programs, and 600 graduate students.
