Job description

This is a 1-year position, within the CIHR-funded grant States of Mind: Emerging Issues in Neuroethics.  In the final year for this grant, the research is focused on developing policy recommendations and best practice guidelines: (i) third party use of neurodiagnostic information and (ii) forced pharmaceutical treatment. The PDF is expected to publish his/her research in relevant peer-reviewed journals and to present his/her research at professional conferences. The PDF may co-author papers and policy recommendations with members of the Novel Tech Ethics research team. Public outreach is encouraged, including writing for lay journals and on-line publications, as well as participation in Café Scientifiques and NTE public events. 


The successful candidate should have a background in philosophy, law or healthy policy. Experience with policy analysis, knowledge of research ethics and interdisciplinary teamwork are an asset. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled. We anticipate a start date of 01 April 2012.
