Closing date : 26/05/2016 Reference : HUM-08079 Faculty / Organisational unit : Humanities School / Directorate : School of Social Sciences Division : Philosophy Employment type : Permanent Location : Oxford Road, Manchester Salary : On the Professorial Scale Hours per week : 1.0 FTE The School of Social Sciences invites applications for a Professorship in Philosophy tenable from 1 September 2016. You must have a distinguished international research profile in at least one area of analytical philosophy that complements the Discipline Area’s existing research strengths. We particularly welcome applications from philosophers with such a research profile in one or more of the following sub-fields: aesthetics; history of analytical philosophy; metaphysics; the philosophy of language. You will have a substantial and sustained track record of producing academic publications of the highest international quality, a proven track record of obtaining external research funding, and significant experience of providing excellent teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including the supervision of PhD students to completion.
