Job description |
The Department of Philosophy at Trent University invites applications for a nine-month limited-term appointment (LTA) at the rank of Assistant Professor commencing August 1, 2016. This appointment is subject to budgetary approval. Candidates are expected to have a completed Ph.D., demonstrated excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level, and a commitment to research. The successful candidate will teach six courses—three in the fall semester and three in the winter semester—on our Symons campus in Peterborough, Ontario. We are seeking candidates to teach the following combination of courses: Fall: PHIL 2390H (Biomedical Ethics); PHIL 3110H (Classics in Ethical Theory); and PHIL 4310H (Advanced Topics in Value Theory). Winter: PHIL 2020H (Philosophy of Sport and Recreation); PHIL 2390H (Biomedical Ethics); and PHIL-POST 3180H (Social and Political Philosophy).
