| Job description |
The Department of Philosophy at Trent University invites applications for a nine-month limited-term appointment (LTA) at the rank of Assistant Professor commencing August 1, 2016. This appointment is subject to budgetary approval. Candidates are expected to have a completed Ph.D., demonstrated excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level, and a commitment to research. Each successful candidate will teach six courses—three in the fall semester and three in the winter semester—on our Symons campus in Peterborough, Ontario. We are seeking candidates to teach the following combination of courses: Fall: PHIL-PSYCH 3020H (Philosophy of Emotion); PHIL 3420H (Modern Philosophy I); and PHIL 3210H (Epistemology). Winter: PHIL 1200H (Critical Thinking); PHIL 2010H (Love and Desire); and PHIL 4210H (Advanced Topics in Metaphysics and Epistemology).
