Finkbeiner Endowed Professorship in Ethics
SVSU seeks an experienced, creative, and energetic individual to contribute to and enhance the liberal arts focus of the College of Arts and Behavioral Sciences at Saginaw Valley State University and to help foster an environment of inquiry, openness, and intellectual diversity through the development of the substantive area of ethics at the University. This position requires the individual to play a key collaborative role in the development of interdisciplinary linkages among programs across the various departments or colleges of the University and to the regions it serves. The Finkbeiner Professor in Ethics is expected to use his/her disciplinary training to frame or enhance discussions of ethical importance across campus and in the community. S/he will be expected to facilitate efforts across the university (with both faculty and students) to assist in research and teaching initiatives related to ethics.

The successful candidate will possess a strong record of teaching and scholarship. S/he must also have exceptional organization and planning skills. Experience with interdisciplinary teams is especially valued. S/he must be an effective communicator and relationship builder and have the ability to work with a variety of constituencies, including administrators, faculty, students, foundations, businesses and government entities.

The Finkbeiner Professor in Ethics reports to the Dean of the College of Arts and Behavioral Sciences. This is a tenure-track faculty position.
