Job description

The Department of Philosophy at Northern Michigan University invites applications for a one-year term position at the rank of instructor for the 2016-2017 academic year. This is a full-time, one-year sabbatical replacement position. Minimum qualifications are ABD with an M.A. in Philosophy and some college-level teaching experience; AOS: Social and Political Philosophy; AOC: Applied Ethics; graduate-level work evidencing AOS and AOC. Preferred qualifications include: Ph.D.; experience teaching social and political philosophy, ethical theory, and various applied ethics courses. Course load will be 12 credits per semester, with multiple preps each term. Teaching responsibilities will include social and political philosophy, ethical theory, and various applied ethics courses (computer, legal, business, medical).
