Job description |
The Department of Philosophy at Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec, invites applications for a limited-term appointment: AOS: Kant, Early Modern Philosophy; AOC: Ethics. This involves teaching introduction to philosophy; introductory ethics; online (already prepared) courses in biomedical ethics; upper level Empiricism and advanced Kant courses. Ability to teach philosophy of human rights, philosophy of leisure, or an online (already prepared) philosophy of religion course, may be an asset, as may be ability to teach: introductory courses in mind; language; epistemology; metaphysics; online (already prepared) courses in critical thinking; and advanced epistemology. This position is subject to budgetary approval and department/unit need. Individuals holding limited-term appointments may be reappointed, given continued funding and need, as well as satisfactory job performance. Together, initial appointments and subsequent reappointments may not exceed 36 months or a span of three consecutive years. They are normally at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor, beginning August 1, 2016 and ending May 14, 2017. Successful candidates will normally be expected to teach three courses per semester. Renewals of returning limited-term appointments are considered first.
