Job description |
The Department of Philosophy at the University of Massachusetts Boston invites applications for an Associate Professor to direct its new Ethics Center, to begin September 1, 2016. The position requires a deep grounding in applied ethics very broadly construed to include issues in: science and technology, medical ethics, business ethics, global development ethics, environmental ethics and climate change policy, human rights, moral psychology, race, gender, education and other areas. Applicants must have a Ph.D.in philosophy;preference will be given to applicants with a distinguished record of relevant scholarship, a national reputation, experience in organizational development and fundraising. In addition a successful candidate will have an interest in interdisciplinary work and faculty collaboration, and will have demonstrated excellence in teaching. Job responsibilities include teaching 2-3 courses per year at the undergraduate level; grant writing and events planning.
