Assistant Professor of Philosophy (EXPIRED)

Utica College, a small comprehensive college in Upstate New York, seeks applications for a tenure-track, Asst. Prof., position in its Philosophy Department.  Preference will be given to candidates with competence in the analytic tradition.  Strong preference will be given to applicants who have a Ph.D. by August 1, 2016.  While a commitment to quality undergraduate teaching is important, active professional scholarship is also required.  AOS: Philosophy of Law. Candidates must also be capable of teaching professional ethics and should be able to contribute to the needs of the department and college by creating bridges to growth areas in human rights, cyber space, and criminal justice. 4/4 teaching load with on-ground, online and graduate teaching required.  All application materials must be submitted online.  To apply, submit a letter of application, CV, evidence of teaching excellence, statement of teaching philosophy, writing sample, and three references.  Active consideration of candidates will begin on December 10, 2015 and continue until the position is filled.  Selected applicants will be interviewed via Skype, not at the Eastern APA Division meeting.  Finalists will be invited to a campus interview.
