Assistant Professor, Philosophy 
continuing, tenure-track appointment 
Fall 2016 

The Philosophy Department at Rhode Island College invites applications for the tenure-track position of Assistant Professor, Philosophy.  The individual will teach undergraduate courses in the Philosophy major including Philosophy of Mind and Metaphysics, and teach Philosophy courses in the General Education curriculum including First Year Seminars.

This is an anticipated vacancy for fall 2016. Final appointment is subject to available funding. The doctoral is required for this appointment and must be completed prior to the beginning of service.

Established in 1854, Rhode Island College is the oldest of the three public institutions of higher education in Rhode Island that operates under the aegis of the Rhode Island Board of Education. The 180-acre campus in the Mount Pleasant section of Providence combines easy access to the benefits and resources of the metropolitan area with a suburban atmosphere.  
 
Required qualifications include: Ph.D. in Philosophy; college-level teaching experience in philosophy; evidence of effective undergraduate teaching.
