Job description |
Department of Philosophy, University of Minnesota Duluth. Assistant professor, full-time tenure track, beginning Fall 2016. Duties include teaching, research, and service. Required qualifications: AOS in Ethics; MA in Philosophy from a regionally accredited institution or equivalent with advanced ABD status (PhD must be conferred by July 1, 2016); at least one year of college level Philosophy teaching (TA acceptable); demonstrated research program; excellent writing skills. Preferred qualifications: PhD in Philosophy from a regionally accredited institution or equivalent at time of application; AOC: Applied Ethics, Experimental Moral Philosophy, and/or Cognitive Science (broadly construed); extensive teaching experience as primary instructor; demonstrated teaching breadth; established publication record; excellent oral communication skills; demonstrated ability to use a variety of teaching methods to respond effectively to classroom discussions related to race, religion, disability and sexual orientation.
