Job description

The Department of Philosophy (http://philosophy.la.psu.edu) at the Pennsylvania State University, University Park, invites applications for a position at the rank of Associate or Professor (tenured). AOS: 19th and/or 20th Century Continental philosophy. AOC: Open. We seek a scholar with an established publication record in continental philosophy whose research interests complement those of the current department faculty. Preference will be given to candidates whose work will augment the department’s longstanding strength in continental philosophy and its specialties in feminist philosophy and critical philosophy of race.  Our signature style of pursuing these strengths involves engagement with and reflection on the history of philosophy including the study of ethics richly informed by a historical approach. The usual teaching load is 2 courses per semester.
