 FACULTY OF PHILOSOPHY

 Departmental Lecturer in Post-Kantian Philosophy

 Grade 7: £30,434 - £37,394 per annum

The Faculty of Philosophy at Oxford University intends to appoint a Departmental Lecturer in Post-Kantian Philosophy. The post is fixed-term for twelve months, beginning either 1 October 2015 or 1 January 2016, but may be renewable to 30 September 2017 (subject to availability of funding and teaching demand).

 The person appointed will be expected to design and deliver between 16 and 24 hours of lectures or graduate classes per annum in the area of Post-Kantian Philosophy, to undertake up to 8 hours of tutorial teaching per week, to act as an assessor for undergraduate and graduate examinations, and to participate in the administration of the Philosophy Faculty, as and when requested. The precise configuration of duties and areas of teaching will be agreed on appointment.

 The successful candidate should normally have received the degree of PhD or DPhil by 1 October 2015, or at least have submitted a completed doctoral dissertation for examination by that date, but candidates who do not meet this requirement may be considered, if they have attained a comparable level through their publications.

Candidates must have an outstanding research record appropriate to the stage of their career with evidence of, or evidence of potential for producing, significant research in the area of Post-Kantian Philosophy. She or he must provide evidence of the ability (or potential) to provide excellent teaching in the area of Post-Kantian Philosophy, and must have the ability and willingness to undertake pastoral responsibilities associate with undergraduate and graduate teaching; to act as an assessor at graduate and undergraduate level; and to undertake administrative duties as required.

 The person appointed will be provided with office space by the Faculty of Philosophy.
