Job description |
The Department of Philosophy at Trent University in Peterborough invites applications for one limited-term appointment (LTA) for nine months at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor, commencing August 1, 2015, subject to budgetary approval, teaching at our Peterborough Symons campus. The LTA teaching load in the department is six courses (three per term). We are seeking a candidate with a completed Ph.D. and demonstrated excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level. The department has needs in interdisciplinary courses include Critical Thinking, Philosophy of Sport & Recreation, Philosophy of Emotion, and Philosophy of Law. The successful candidate will likely teach an advanced seminar at the fourth-year level in any area of Epistemology or Metaphysics, as well. We offer a broad-based curriculum in Philosophy to a large number of students, including majors and non-majors.
