Vacancy #15F123 The Department of Philosophy and Religion at the University of North Carolina Wilmington seeks to hire a lecturer in philosophy to fill a possibly renewable, nine-month, non-tenure track position for the 2015-2016 academic year. Primary responsibilities for this position will be to teach Bioethics courses in our new, innovative Online Accelerated Program (OAP) for Nursing students. Courses are designed and delivered using the Blackboard platform, utilizing best practices established by the Quality Matters program. Courses are delivered in an asynchronous online environment during accelerated 7.5 week sessions. There are four sessions during the normal academic year (fall and spring semesters) and two 7.5 week sessions during the summer semester. Local residence will be required to facilitate learning. The successful applicant must be trained in Philosophy with a specialization in Bioethics. Ph.D. preferred (ABD acceptable) with a record of excellence teaching Bioethics online (peer and student evaluations, references). Exceptional candidates with a Master's degree will be considered. Strong preference will be given to those applicants with online Bioethics teaching experience.
