Director of the Institute for the Study of Human Flourishing

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
The intersection of virtue theory, positive psychology, and character education is one of the most vibrant and important sites of scholarly inquiry today. Bringing these fields together is a challenge but also an enormous opportunity. We seek a distinguished professor to serve as founding Director of a new program which an interdisciplinary team at the University of Oklahoma seeks to build into a major center for research on virtue and flourishing, and for the development of curricular and extra-curricular initiatives to cultivate virtue in OU students and in the community. The successful candidate will be a scholar and a leader, with a demonstrated interest in interdisciplinary work, and an impressive record of research on virtue or flourishing in philosophy, psychology, or education. Salary highly competitive. Appointment begins fall 2015.
