Assistant Professorships History of Philosophy (2 * 0,7 fte) The candidates’ research should focus on one or more areas in the History of Philosophy. Teaching includes courses at undergraduate and graduate level in the department of the History of Philosophy as well as courses for students from non-philosophy faculties. Given expertise already available in the department, teaching expertise in areas such as ancient philosophy, modern philosophy (from Kant onwards to the present) and continental philosophy are especially welcome. Qualifications The successful applicants will have a PhD in philosophy prior to appointment, a strong research profile and publication record appropriate to career stage, and research interests in the history of philosophy broadly conceived. Further requirements are: • excellent didactic qualities Conditions of Employment The University of Groningen offers a salary that ranges between € 3,324 and € 5,171 gross per month for a full time appointment (salary scale 11 and 12 Collective Labour Agreement Dutch Universities). Salary and conditions are in accordance with appointment at lecturer level (Universitair Docent) and are depending on education and experience. The salary will be supplemented by a holiday allowance of 8% per year and an end-of-year bonus of 8.3%. Both positions are 0.7 fte each. After a probationary period of two years, the appointment will become permanent on condition of a positive evaluation of teaching and research. |
