Professor of Philosophy (EXPIRED)

1. The Institute of Humanities of Diego Portales University in Santiago, Chile, invites applications for a full-time academic position.

2. We are looking for a doctor in philosophy with main specialization in modern or contemporary theoretical philosophy.

3. The following qualifications will be particularly valued:
    3.1. A distinguished research career, as evidenced in:
        3.1.1. Relevant publications in prestigious journals and publishing houses in the respective areas of specialization.
        3.1.2. Participation in significant research projects in the areas of specialization.
    3.2. The ability to create international academic networks.
    3.3. Teaching experience.

4. The position involves the following responsibilities:
    4.1. Research that is important in its field, evidenced in publications.
    4.2. Three semester courses per year.
    4.3. Supervision of master’s and doctoral theses.
    4.4. Usual administrative duties.

5. The application should contain the following documents:
    5.1. An updated curriculum vitae which includes, in highlighted fashion, items 3.1, 3.2 and 3.3.
    5.2. A cover letter (3000 characters maximum).
    5.3. A selection of the most important publications (not more than three).
    5.4. Two short (6000 characters maximum) confidential letters of recommendation by researchers who are internationally recognized in the field and who know closely the academic work of the applicant.

6. The salary will be determined according to the applicant’s qualifications and in view of the usual remunerations and benefits enjoyed by professors of Diego Portales University.
