School of Humanities and Social Sciences Nanyang Technological University, Singapore Faculty position in Philosophy The School of Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, invites qualified academics to apply for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Philosophy. Area of specialization is open, but the individual must be able to teach ethics and logic/critical thinking. NTU is a research-intensive university (39th in 2014 QS World University Rankings; 61st in 2014 Times Higher Education World University Rankings; 1st in 2014 QS 50 Universities Under 50-Years Rankings) with globally acknowledged strengths in science and engineering as well as thriving programs in the Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences. The Philosophy Programme offers a full range of curricula from undergraduate major, minor to MA and PhD degrees (http://www.hss.ntu.edu.sg/Programmes/philosophy/Pages/Faculty.aspx). Candidates should possess a Ph.D. in relevant fields and demonstrate a commitment to excellence in research as well as teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The usual workload includes teaching two courses per semester, scholarly research, and university service. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach in the University Scholars Programme, a prestigious, multidisciplinary undergraduate programme (http://scholars.ntu.edu.sg/Pages/default.aspx).
