Job description

The Departments of Philosophy and Religion and Political Science at Northeastern University invite applications for an appointment as Assistant, Associate or Full Professor in the areas of Social and Political Philosophy to begin in September 2015. The successful candidate will be jointly appointed in both departments and will teach courses on Social and Political Philosophy and Economic Justice. They will also take a leadership role in a new interdisciplinary undergraduate degree program in Politics, Philosophy and Economics currently in development.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Philosophy or Political Science and be active scholars with a strong record of scholarly achievement and a commitment to undergraduate teaching. We are particularly interested in candidates whose research intersects with information and computational technologies, so that they can contribute to the College of Social Sciences and Humanities’ initiatives in these areas, such as the NU Lab for Texts, Maps, and Networks and the Digital Scholarship Commons.
