Job description

The Department of Philosophy invites applications for a tenure-track position at the German rank of W-2 professor. Five years pre-tenure, followed by tenure decision. AOS: Classical German Philosophy. AOC: German romanticism and/or philosophy of language and/or hermeneutics and/or translation theory and/or Kant's theoretical philosophy and/or epistemology and/or skepticism.

Active research interests in AOS and AOC are essential. Teaching in the amount of approximately 7 hours per week for two semesters per year (9 "Semesterwochenstunden"). Active participation in forming and leading a research project within the applicant’s field of research in connection with the Alexander von Humboldt Professorship of Michael N. Forster. Active participation in both the Department of Philosophy and the International Centre for Philosophy, NRW at Bonn University.

A good passive knowledge of German is required and a good active knowledge is desirable. Bonn University is an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity employer.
